Responsibilites
Perform and document engineering tests.
Perform engineering analysis under general supervision.
Design or modify mechanical engineering layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of moderate scope under general supervision.
Generate related alpha/gamma documentation for product release.
Coordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components/equipment and identify sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve technical issues.
Troubleshoot a variety of moderate mechanical problems.
Implement concepts for product issues and mechanical solutions of moderate difficulty.
Assist in development of mechanical product specifications.
With supervision establish task priorities.
May be responsible for the design, development and implementation of custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes to enable the handling, assembly and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle.

Job Specific Knowledge
Full use and application of standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
General knowledge of mechanical engineering design, mechanics, and material science concepts and techniques, including thermodynamics, heat transfer, measurement control, stress analysis, Finite Element Analysis, and system integration
Basic knowledge of CAD tools.

Qualifications

Skills
Requires good skills in change management, problem solving, communication skills, customer orientation, product technology, personal effectiveness, project management, team skills and quality.
Requires knowledge of systems and software necessary to perform job function such as Lotus Notes, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, UGNX, Oracle BOM, and/or Oracle ECO.

Education
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline, and 2+ years directly related experience, or equivalent.
MS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline, and 0-2 years directly related experience preferred, or equivalent.
Preferred previous work experience to include mechanical engineering experience in a development or manufacturing environment.
College Hire applicants, only. This is a College Hire (New College Graduate) position. Candidates must have completed an applicable college/university degree program within one year of start date (anticipated start date will be prior to October 27, 2009).
