Position Description
Mitchell International is looking for a student or recent graduate who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic IS Support environment.

The IS Operations Support Intern will support the basic function, set-up, operation and monitoring of multiple computer systems and environments such as UNIX, Linux and Windows (XP, NT). The Intern will participate in operating the computer and peripheral equipment to test and run routine scheduled programs and procedures and make adjustments to systems using instructions, flow charts, and control procedures. By responding to alerts, applications, phone calls and emails, this individual will help ensure that Mitchell’s operating systems function as designed and serve the needs of our clients. The Intern will be given the opportunity to observe Mitchell International’s computer room systems and processes and gain a working understanding of the company’s dynamic business practices.

Position Requirements

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating systems (XP, NT)
Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Outlook experience
UNIX and/or Linux skills (must have experience in a Windows command line environment)
The ability to read and interpret instructions for computer-operating system, maintenance, the running of jobs and procedure manuals
The ability to communicate clearly – verbally in person, on the phone and or written emails
A keen attention to detail
The ability to identify an issue and trouble shoot to find a solution
A student or a recent undergraduate or graduate in Computer Science or related curriculum
Willingness to work a six month internship with a flexible schedule of 15-20 hours a week; flexibility to work evenings and weekends
Candidates must be located in the San Diego area
Candidates must be a legal alien or US citizen with eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
