We are looking for two different IT engineer roles, below are details on both positions:
1. Information Technology Engineer - Computing & Operational Services
We are looking for a well-rounded team players who will partner with their IT team to deliver high-quality, robust and scalable IT infrastructure supporting software systems and global communications & collaboration, while learning and growing as individuals. This infrastructure includes network access, end-user devices, global communications infrastructure, data center compute services (including server hardware, operating system platforms, and relational databases), communications & collaboration technologies, and software application frameworks. Your Responsibilities: The ideal candidates will have ability in one or more of the following areas:
*Provide technical input to business & technical requirements
*Identify & analyze technology solution options (e.g. alternative approaches, security, results of impact and analysis)
*Create or contribute to design of infrastructure solutions
*Apply service & solution concepts to technology to create IT solutions
*Design, develop and maintain complete solutions and integrate these into the existing operational environment
*Conduct unit tests and performance tuning (e.g. write test cases; troubleshoot and fix bugs)
*Support integration, regression, and User Acceptance Testing and software deployment
*Produce high quality documentation (e.g. Document design, implementation plans, and support processes)
*Communicate status (e.g. report on progress; timely escalation of issues and risks)
*Continuously learn new tools, technologies, and strategies
This position typically reports to an IT Manager and with a project manager setting day-to-day goals and providing work direction. Interfaces with IT team, IT Analysts and business partners.
Requirements:
* Minimum GPA of 3.0 required
*Typically requires studies in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
*Students should currently have junior or senior standing as an undergraduate.
*Graduate level students will be considered.
The following skills and background are a plus:
*Knowledge of end-user devices including PC hardware, operating systems, and mobile devices
*Knowledge of “Web 2.0” concepts, architecture, and tools
*Knowledge of IP networking concepts and network design, implementation, and operations
*Knowledge of voice & video concepts & technologies on an IP network
*Knowledge of data center platforms (hardware, operating system, application servers) and data center virtualization
*Knowledge of relational databases and Structured Query Language
*Experience or knowledge in developing web-based applications
*Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to troubleshoot problems
*A strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
*Ability to multi-task, self start, and work in a fast-paced team environment
*Ability to meet deadlines and commitments
*Strong oral and written communication skills
*Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team
2. Information Technology Engineer - Business Applications Developer
We are looking for a well-rounded team player who will partner with their IT team to deliver high-quality, robust and scalable software systems while learning and growing as individuals. Your Responsibilities: The ideal candidates will have ability in one or more of the following areas:
* Clearly understand Cisco’s business functions
* Apply business knowledge to key decisions while working through areas of ambiguity and coding requirements
* Provide technical input to requirements
* Identify technology solution options (e.g. alternative approaches, results of impact and analysis)
* Create or contribute to software design
* Design, develop and maintain complete solutions using custom code, middleware and packaged applications and integrate these into the existing operational environment.
* Conduct unit tests and performance tuning (e.g. write test cases; troubleshoot and fix bugs)
* Support integration, regression, and User Acceptance Testing and software deployment
* Produce high quality documentation (e.g. Document design, code, and processes to ensure reuse)
* Communicate status (e.g. report on progress; timely escalation of issues and risks)
* Continuously learn new tools, technologies, and strategies

* Experience or knowledge of the following languages HTML, JavaScript, Java
* Knowledge of basic application networking concepts (e.g., how a browser works, using HTTP)
* Knowledge of relational databases and data modeling
* Experience or knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
* A strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
* Ability to multi-task, self start, and work in a fast-paced team environment
* Ability to meet deadlines and commitments
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team
All candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Cisco — i.e., U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, permanent residents, temporary residents (that is, individuals who have gone through the legalization program)
