Research Associate - Biomedical Imaging
The Biomedical Imaging Group has an opening for a Research Associate. Research efforts within the BMI group focus on developing and applying biomedical imaging to quantify structural and physiological responses to therapy. The Biomedical Imaging Group is a dedicated, state-of-the-art research facility that includes MRI (4.7and 9.4T), Micro-CT (in-vivo and ex-vivo), Micro-PET, microSPECT/CT, as well as ultrasound and optical imaging techniques.
Responsibilities: A Research Assistant/Associate opportunity is available within the Biomedical Imaging facility for a candidate who is interested in the application of pre-clinical in-vivo imaging techniques to drug discovery. Responsibilities include development and implementation of bio-medical imaging techniques for the investigations of drug action and pathophysiological response of potential therapies. The successful candidate will also be required to assist in the development of novel in-vivo models of human pathology.
Requirements
This position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in either a biological science, Biomedical Engineering or a related area is required along with experience with some aspect of in vivo physiological research. Knowledge of MRI, CT, ultrasound or radio-nuclei imaging would be an advantage but is not a prerequisite since training will be provided. The applicant should have experience with statistical and data analysis techniques. Experience with such software packages as JMP, Excel, StatView, IDL, MatLab, Analyze, etc. is a plus.
