The Public Service operating group serves government organizations around the globe, as well as foundations, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and non-profit enterprises.

Accenture’s Services workforce is a dedicated team of people who work on outsourcing engagements. These are long-term partnerships with clients for whom we manage and provide increasingly specialized business operations, such as finance and accounting, IT, applications development and maintenance, help desk services, and HR. We not only maintain key business functions for clients, we constantly seek to improve them to help our clients move ahead of the competition. Most of our people in Services are based long-term at a client location, an Accenture Delivery Centre or, in some cases, an Accenture office.

Service Delivery professionals are responsible for providing service delivery across the breadth of offerings such as accounting, information technology, application development and maintenance, helpdesk services, procurement, learning and training, and human resources. The work that is performed by our delivery professionals may serve one or more clients concurrently and they may be located directly at a client site or within our global delivery network.

The Naval Satellite Operations Center at the Point Mugu Naval base in Ventura County controls and commands several of the Navy’s satellite constellations. The requirement of the Orbital Analyst will be to perform orbit analyst duties for two of these constellations and develop and/or enhance existing tools to automate routine tasks. The satellites associated with this employment are geo-synchronous satellites. An orbit analyst constantly tracks each satellite to ensure its proper location and space situation.

Orbital Analyst duties include:
Using computer software to determine each satellite’s orbit at present and in the near future.
Produce and distribute reports, which consist of satellite data of interest to customers and agencies around the globe.
Plan maneuvers for satellites so that their operational requirements will continue to be met.
Look at potential collisions with foreign objects and/or satellites and to plan avoidance maneuvers when required.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Working towards a Bachelors Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics
Ability to obtain and maintain an active SECRET security clearance
Ability to work on location at the Point Mugu Naval Base up to 20 hours a week
